Another Downes family member has joined the team. Amanda Downes, recent University of Iowa graduate, is now the Construction Coordinator.

Year after year, Downes Swimming Pool Company is recognized by its peers in the industry, for being a leader in the market. Downes has received over 100 Midwest Design Awards and Six International Design Awards.

Recent Awards

• Downes recently was awarded 3 International Design Awards at the National Swimming Pool Institute national convention in Las Vegas in December 2004.
  
  
• Downes received 19 gold and 1 silver design awards at the local N.S.P.I. awards/Christmas party in early December 2004.
  
  
• Downes was awarded the 1st place custom spa in Aqua Magazine in the February 2005 issue. We were awarded the editors pick by Karen Erstad, Senior Editor, for the entire design award.
  
  
• Inducted into the Aqua Hall of Fame 2003, by Aqua Magazine.
  
  
• We were voted one of the top 25 Pool Builders in the country in March. The voting was conducted within the Pool & Spa Industry.
  
  
• Indoor pools constructed by Downes Pool were featured in the latest edition of "Pool and Spa Living", a national consumer magazine.
  
  
• Downes Swimming Pool Company has been awarded the Distinguished Builders Award for 2000-2001 from Pool and Spa News.
  
  
• Aqua Magazine, an industry trade journal, began a list of the Top 100 Swimming Pool Contractors in the United States. Downes Swimming Pool Company was named to the inaugural list in 1900 and again in 1992, 1998 and 1999.
  
  
• Many of Downes pools have been featured in articles published in North Shore Magazine, The Daily Herald Newspaper, Pool and Spa News, and Swimming Pool Age, Aqua Magazine and Gold Medal Pools.
  
  
• Downes Swimming Pool Company, Inc. was named 1998 Business of the Year by the Wheeling/Prospect Heights Chamber of Commerce.
